About our Practice

You're Not Just a Referral to Us.

Every patient who walks through our doors has a story, not just a set of symptoms. That belief is what Rheumatology Specialist Centre was built around, and it’s what drives every consultation we have.

Our Story

Rheumatology Care that Takes You Seriously.

Living with a rheumatic condition is exhausting in ways that are hard to describe. The uncertainty. The waiting. The appointments where you leave feeling seen, but not quite heard.

Dr. Armi Salonga built this practice around one conviction: that clinical excellence and genuine, unhurried attention to each patient aren’t competing priorities. They’re the same one. Fellowship-trained across Queensland’s leading hospitals and at St. Vincent’s Medical Centre in Connecticut, and a member of Women in Rheumatology Australia, she brings the training to get the diagnosis right and the approach to make sure it makes sense to you.

Today Dr. Armi consults from two locations, Toowoomba CBD and Joint Specialist Care at Pimpama on the Gold Coast, so specialist-level rheumatology care is closer than you might think.

How We Care

Three things we believe about patient care.

Not every clinic puts these on paper. We do, because they shape
every consultation we have.

Evidence meets empathy.

Every treatment decision we make is grounded in the latest clinical research and international guidelines. But a clinical trial doesn't capture your work roster, your family, or what a flare-up actually costs you on a bad day. Evidence informs our thinking. You complete the picture.

You're the expert in your own life.

You know how you feel day to day, what trade-offs you can live with, and what quality of life actually means to you. We bring specialist knowledge. You bring irreplaceable knowledge about yourself. The best outcomes happen when both are in the room.

Joined-up care works better.

Rheumatic conditions respond best when the whole team is connected. We work closely with your GP, physiotherapist, and other specialists to make sure your care is truly coordinated, not just in principle, but in practice.
